1. The will
Stealing needs will. On first tries, you'll feel a heavy guilt even before you steal. It's normal since you are about to plunge yourself to the dark side. It's just the same as that fear you feel when you know you gonna die if you jump from the tenth floor. But the more you steal, the more you can handle this guilt. It will become like your daily routine and your brain will be tricked to think that stealing is a right thing to do. So be careful about this, okay? You might become unable to differentiate which is good and which is bad anymore.
2. The plan
Crime without a plan is always a suicide. You need to plan it first, not just jump in gun blazing. Things you must consider to put into your plan:
- The item position.
Get as much information you can get about this. The better you know about it, the faster you can steal it.
- The owner.
Know who they are, know how they feel about the item you are about to steal. Know where they will be and when. Know about them as much as you can, and you are sure to get a safe route.
-The surrounding.
Neighbors, roommates, and the other people around that owner are dangerous. You must first know when and where they will be to get the good timing for your steal.
-The timing.
If you know the owner and the surrounding, this shouldn't be much problem. In most cases, nighttime is the best time to steal something since it is dark and people are sleeping. But beware, there are also people who do not sleep at night, or woken up easily.
-Escape route.
It is best to know how to get out of the crime scene without anyone knowing, right? So prepare a place for you to hide the stolen item.
3. The attempt
First, be brave. Don't let any other thoughts other than stealing take over your mind. Act as natural as possible, and as quietly as possible. Slow movement is the key, especially when you act where people are asleep. Moving too fast might cause you to stumble into something and making a noise. Move slowly, and only one movement at a time. Crouching is a good choice since it reduce your mass and the risk of you to hit something. But if you are sure that nobody is around seeing you, go as fast as you can instead.
Second, do not be greedy. Take only what you can take. Or better, take only your targeted item. Going out of plan is fine, but it has variant risk from small to big. You never know what will happen next, even if you go with the plan, nobody can ensure it will go smoothly.
Third, be smart. Before you steal, examine and remember the position of items in that place. As you search your target item, you are sure to turn everything into a mess. For a better chance to run away, after you steal, make sure all the other items are back to where they were, unless for your stolen item that is. This way, the owner will realize the crime late, giving you time to get away.
If anything goes wrong, be a coward. For example, you are found out, run as fast as you can. Grab something ONLY if you can grab it. It is better for you to get away safely than being caught along with your stolen items.
***NO RETRIES***
If you fail, there is no retries. Stealing is not a game. If you are caught red handedly, you can only wish nothing bad happens to you. If you can get away, the owner and their surroundings will increase their security for a period of time and it is better for you to stay away for a while before doing the attempt again.
==HIDING==
Finding a good place for hiding something can be quite tricky. Make sure that nobody will touch that place, or if possible, make sure that nobody KNOW about that place.
Methods of hiding things:
1. The dark
A dark area is good hiding area. Wrap the item in something black, and put it in the dark area. Dark area tend to give people fear, so they won't be near the area for long. But if they know you are hiding something, these area might be their first target to search.
2. The conceal
The good ol' way. Put it under something, like clothes and things, or behind boxes. You should already know this way. And again, a black wrapper is a good way to hide it from vision, though if they find out that there's an item inside, you're doomed.
***BEWARE OF NATURE***
Dust, spider web, and such things are enemies to hiding things. People can easily tell that that clean bag is recently used if there are other bags full of dust around it.
BONUS:
HIDING A BIG CORPSE
I've red somewhere about this. To hide a corpse, for example human corpse, you will need a deep hole. Dig it as dig as you can. Throw the corpse inside, and close the hole, but not completely. Leave a few meters and dump another corpse, for example a dog corpse there, and close the hole completely.
This way, the human corpse smell will almost be replaced by the dog smell, and when someone actually dig up the hole, they'll find the dog corpse instead.
